What is GSTR 3B?
GSTR 3 B is an important form under GST Return Filing. Taxpayers have to file GSTR 3B every month. Taxpayers under QRMP scheme also have to mandatorily file it each quarter.
Things to know about GSTR 3B
- You have to file GSTR 3B for each GSTIN.
- GSTR 3B contains the summary of sales, Input Tax Credit, net tax to pay etc.
- You can not revise GSTR 3B once it has been filed.
- The due date of GSTR 3B is 20th of each month,
- Even if you have zero tax liability, it is mandatory to file GSTR 3B.
- As soon as the GSTR-2B statement is made accessible to businesses, they are eligible to claim ITC when paying taxes and filing GSTR-3B.
What is Form GST PMT-06?
Form PMT-06 is a GST challan, or a form for depositing GST. Once you get GST Registration, you don’t need any physical forms. Therefore, Form GST PMT-06 is also an online challan for making payment of tax, interest, late fee, and penalties under the GST regime.
Things to know about Form GST PMT-06
- Form GST PMT-06 must be generated before paying the net tax liability.
- You will also get a CIN (Challan Identification Number) from the bank which you need to mention in the Form GST PMT-06.
- After it is generated, the challan in PMT-06 is only valid for 15 days to fulfill any overdue payment.
- Despite the fact that QRMP Scheme taxpayers file GSTR-3B quarterly, they must nevertheless pay monthly tax using Form GST PMT-06.
Latest News: GSTR 3B GST Return Filing Due Date Extended for April 2022
“The due date for filing FORM GSTR-3B for the month of April 2022 has been extended till 24th May 2022,” CBIC tweeted.
The tweet on extension of GSTR 3B for the April month came after the CBIC announcement addressing the difficulties faced by taxpayers in filing their GSTR-3B for the month of April 2022.
CBIC also tweeted ‘A technical glitch has been reported by @Infosys_GSTN in the generation of April 22 GSTR-2B & auto-population of GSTR-3B on the portal. Infosys has been directed by Govt for early resolution. The technical team is working to provide GSTR-2B & correct auto-populated GSTR-3B at the earliest.’

It is interesting to note that to design and operate the GST system, Infosys was given a contract for Rs 1,380 crore in 2015. However, several glitches keep popping up and taxpayers have to face a lot of difficulties.
Latest News: FORM GST PMT-06 Due Date Extended
Similar to the GSTR 3B GST Return Filing Due Date extended for April 2022, the Form GST PMT-06 Due Date is also extended.
In a similar fashion to the previous notification of GSTR 3B Return Extension, this was also notified on Twitter.
The tweet from CBIC on Form GST PMT-06 Due Date Extended clearly mentions new due date extension till 27th May, 2022.
The tweet mentions, ‘ The due date of payment of tax for the month of April 2022 by taxpayers under QRMP scheme in FORM GST PMT-06 has been extended till 27th May 2022 (refer notification No. 06/2022-Central Tax dated 17.05.2022) (2/2)’.
Considering the difficulties faced by taxpayers due to glitches on the GST Portal, several taxpayers also replied with thanks. Furthermore, the CBIC also mentioned Inconvenience caused to the taxpayers is regretted.
