Delhi-Noida Border Sealed for One Week

Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has stated in its Lockdown 5.0 guidelines that the Delhi-Noida Border shall remain sealed till one week.

To combat Novel Coronavirus disease or COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian government had imposed Lockdown 5.0 on May 31. After studying the result of the Lockdown 4.0 on the COVID-19 situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), had given a notification under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, for further extending the Lockdown. The Lockdown 5.0 aka Unlock 1 shall go on till 30th June 2020.

In this regard, the DM of Gautam Budh Nagar Mr Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj has issued guidelines for Lockdown 5.0, according to which the Delhi-Noida Border shall remain sealed till one week. Refer to the complete guideline from below link-

Why Delhi-Noida Border shall remain sealed?

Both Delhi, as well as Noida, have witnessed a sharp increase in the cases of COVID-19 infection in recent days.

  • Gautam Buddh Nagar, which is a district adjoining Delhi in the West UP, is one of the worst-hit regions of the state Recently, 387 Corona positive cases have been reported from Gautam Buddh Nagar, including 7 deaths in total.
  • Likewise, Delhi has also recorded the highest single-day increase of 1,295 new COVID-19 cases on May 31. Now, the total Corona positive cases have mounted to 19,844, and the death toll has mounted to 473.

Seeing the intensity of the COVID-19 in both Delhi and Noida, the administrations of Delhi-NCR have decided that Delhi-Noida Border shall remain sealed till one week during Lockdown 5.0. Only transportation will be allowed for the essential services, and for that people will require e-pass for Delhi to Noida commuting.

 

Delhi-Gurugram and Faridabad Borders open 

However, there is some respite that the Delhi-Gurugram and Faridabad borders are open for public transport. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has allowed transportation between Delhi to Gurugram and Faridabad, as per the Centre’s advisory to resume Intra & Inter-state movement of people and vehicles as a part of Unlock 1.0.
