Due Date for Advance Tax Payment Extended
The Due date for the payment of Advance Tax of FY 2019-20 has been extended now. Government has now extended the date of Direct Tax payment with regard to the 3rd installment of the advance tax for the FY 2019-20
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified that the Due date for the payment of the advance tax has been now extended in the North East states of India, from 15th December to 31st December 2019.
1. Which states have witnessed the extension of the Advance Tax Payment Due date?
Only in the North-Eastern states of India, the Advance Tax Payment Due date for FY 2019-20 has been extended from 15th December to 31st December 2019. These states are:
- Assam,
- Tripura,
- Arunachal Pradesh,
- Meghalaya,
- Nagaland,
- Manipur and
- Mizoram
2. Why has the Advance Tax Payment Due date extended further?
The Advance Tax Payment Due date for FY 2019-20 has been extended in the North-Eastern states of India listed above, as there is a large-scale disruption of the normal course of Internet Services in these North Eastern States. The taxpayers are facing acute disturbance in the process of the Payment of the direct tax on the CBIC portal.
As a result, CBDT has now extended the Advance Tax Payment Due date for FY 2019-20.
