FSSAI to organize National Eat Right Mela 2018
It is beyond any doubt that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has undertaken relentless efforts towards the goal of making a healthy India. To name some of the key reforms implemented in this direction, we have the nationwide food safety audit, besides regular checks for FSSAI registration and FSSAI license among the food business operations and the most recent step, the nationwide Eat Right India Movement.
As part of its initiative to create awareness for food safety & hygiene in the industry, the FSSAI had launched the Eat Right India Movement. Under this movement, the apex Food safety regulator had also instituted the Eat Right India Awards 2018.

With an aim to incite awareness among the citizens on food safety ecosystem in the country, the FSSAI is now planning to host the 1st National Eat Right Mela 2018 at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi.
#1. Why has FSSAI organised the National Eat Right Mela 2018?
Rocky- In the view of the consistent lack of food safety norms among the food business operators, the apex food safety regulator has organised the National Eat Right Mela 2018. The main idea is to encourage the food businesses to take initiative in the nationwide drive of Eat Right movement.
#2. How will the National Eat Right Mela 2018 help the food businesses?
Rocky- This fair cum food fest would eventually serve as a one-stop for all the citizens for getting in-depth guidance on safety, health and hygiene. The mass outreach of the event through celebration and infotainment would not only evoke consciousness among the consumers towards safe and healthy eating habits but will also motivate the food businesses to implement the key norms of safety & hygiene. This would gradually lead to the expansion of their customer base.
Besides, one of the key issues that will be emphasized at this mela will the importance of FSSAI registration and FSSAI license in the growth of food business.
#3. When will National Eat Right Mela 2018 take place?
Rocky- The National Eat Right Mela 2018 is going to take place from 14th to 16th December 2018, at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi.

Rocky- The consumers would be able to relish local foods and know about the rich culinary heritage of our country. Moreover, Street food fest will also be organised to delight the citizens with various kinds of Indian Street foods.
