MCA asking All Companies to file Coronavirus Preparedness Form
We all know that the Novel Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has affected over 110 nations of the world. Due to the number of casualties throughout the globe resulting from Coronavirus disease, a number of countries are now on complete deadlock. Moreover, the global pandemic has also caused a worldwide economic disruption, including in India, where the government is impelled to impose a lockdown in many districts.
In such a situation, the Ministry Of Corporate Affairs has required the corporate sector to assume a proactive role in the implementation of the social distancing policy in order to combat the threat of Coronavirus disease. As a part of hazard management, all the companies/LLPs are required to immediately put in place the Work-from-home policy up to 31st March 2020.
In this regard, the MCA has brought a mandatory simple e-form named Company Affirmation of Readiness towards Covid-19 (CAR). The e-form CAR-2020 has been deployed w.e.f. 23rd March 2020. Here are some important FAQs on the e-form CAR-2020:

This is a simple Web-based e-form (need to be filed online on MCA21 portal)

There is no government fee required to be submitted for this e-form.

3. Who has authorized Signatory for filing e-form CAR-2020?
Any of the following can file the e-form CAR-2020 as authorized signatory:

Company: Directors, KMP or CS employed by the company.

Foreign LLP/ Company: Authorized signatory associated with such a Company/LLP.
4. Whether there’s need to login to MCA21 to file this form?
Yes, the e-form CAR-2020 can only be filed with a login-ID & password. Hence, it is mandatory to have the MCA21 Log in id to file this form.
5. Which mobile no. shall be quoted to receive the OTP from MCA21?
The OTP from MCA21 Portal shall be received on different mobile numbers in different cases:-

In case a director’s DIN is entered, the mobile number for such DIN available in the database shall be prefilled. The OTP shall be received on the same.

In case a PAN is mentioned, then the field for mobile no. shall be enabled. Thereby, the mobile no. shall be entered to receive the OTP.
6. Which category of Companies and LLP needs to file this form?
As such all the Companies and LLPs are supposed to file e-form CAR-2020 whether small, OPC, Public company, Listed company, Foreign Companies/LLP, etc.
7. Whether there’s govt. fee for filing e-form CAR-2020?
No, there is no need to pay any government fee for the filing of this form. Even the SRN shall not be generated for e-form CAR-2020. The acknowledgment shall be directly sent on the registered email ID of the entity.
8. Whether it is mandatory to file this e-form?
Yes, it is mandatory to file the e-form CAR-2020 by the specified entities.
9. What is the due date to file e-form CAR-2020?
