WOMEN ENTREPRENEUR STARTUP GOI SCHEMES
The Government of India has started various schemes to encourage and strengthen the women of India. As today Indian women who want to start a business at small & micro level but unable to start up the cause of lack of funds, infrastructure, supplies etc., the following below are some of the schemes launched by GOI to support & encourage Indian women to startup their own:-
Standup India Scheme
Stand-Up India Scheme facilitates bank loans between Rs.10 Lakh to Rs. 1 Crore to following persons: -
- Scheduled caste (SC) or
- Scheduled tribes (ST) or
- Women entrepreneur
This enterprise can be from any kind of sectors like the manufacturing sector, services sector or trading sector or E-commerce.
In case of non-individual enterprises like a private limited company, LLP, partnership firm, OPC at least 51% of the shareholding and controlling stake should be held by either an SC/ST or woman entrepreneur to avail Stand-Up India Scheme.

Annapurna Scheme
Under this scheme Government of India helps those women who are into the business of food catering. GOI has provided a maximum amount of Rs. 50,000 on composite term loan which needs to be repaid in long thirty-six (36) month instalment. In this scheme, there is 1 month “EMI free” period. It requires a guarantor and the assets to be submitted as collateral security. The interest rate applicable on this loan is as per prevailing market interest rates at the time of application.
Annapurna Loan can be used for the purchase of utensils and cutlery, gas connection, Refrigerator, Mixer cum Grinder, Hot case, Utensil stand, Tiffin boxes, Working table, Water filter etc
Stree Shakthi Package
Another scheme was framed for women entrepreneurs where small scale units managing by one or more women entrepreneurs having ownership stake not less than 51% in a firm or business. The scheme was offered by most of the state banks (like state bank of India, state bank of Mysore) at a concessional rate of interest.
In this scheme, only those women can apply who have taken part in Entrepreneurship Development Programs organized by state-level agencies.
Bharatiya Mahila Bank
Bhartiya Mahila Bank established by GOI specifically for women to supports and encourages women entrepreneurs to start up their own new business. This Bank offers a loan for the retail sector, MICRO Loans, Loan against property and SME loans.

Dena Shakti Scheme
Dena Shakti Scheme is an initiative of Dena Bank aims at providing financial assistance to women entrepreneur at 0.25% reduction on the interest rate. This loan is available for women entrepreneurs engaged in agriculture, manufacturing, micro-credit, retail stores or small enterprises.
Udyogini Scheme
Udyogini Scheme is promoted by Punjab and Sind Bank. A loan is available at lower interest rates and on flexible terms. This loan can be used for agricultural activities, retail, and small business enterprises.
Cent Kalyani Scheme
This scheme has been offered by Central Bank of India. In this Scheme, the interest rate varies from one sector to another and is based on market rates.
It is available for women employed in village and cottage industries, micro, small and medium enterprises, self-employed women, agriculture and allied activities, retail trade and government-sponsored programs.
Mahila Udyam Nidhi Scheme
Punjab National Bank has initiated this Scheme. This Scheme is created mainly to target the small –scale sector. Under this one can get up to INR 10 lakh repayable within 10 years. The applicability of interest is dependent on market rates and these are revised from time to time. This loan is taken for establishing small scale industries, business enterprises as well as for agricultural activities. Moreover, this loan is also available for retail traders and other self-employed female entrepreneurs.
In this there are some special loans for parlours, daycare centres, buying auto-rickshaw, two-wheelers and cars etc.
