3 New Changes to make GST Registration Process Easier
It is beyond any doubt, the GST authority has left no stones unturned in increasing the level of ease of doing business by simplification of the GST registration process and other GST compliances. Till now, the biggest challenge before the GST department was the automation of the GST refund process. Very recently, this problem has been solved by the GST department with the introduction of the electronic refund processing and single disbursement procedure This will really speed up the GST refund process for the dealers having GST registration.
Very importantly, the GST authority has now further eased the process of GST registration in India. The department has now introduced 3 New Functionalities on the GST registration portal.
Here we shall discuss those 3 new changes in the GST portal that will further simplify the procedure to Register under GST.
#1. Mapping of all GSTINs to the same PAN
The government has now eased the process of getting multiple GST registration, by enabling mapping of all GST numbers to the same PAN of the applicant. A taxpayer can get more than one GST number in different states with the same PAN. Now, in case the registered dealer wants a new GST registration in another state, he will now be able to see all his GSTINs across different states in India mapped to his same PAN. He will be able to see all his GSTINs the time of filing the new GST registration application in Part A of the Form GST REG-01, on the same PAN.
#2. Easy multiple GST registrations in another state
Now getting GST registrations across various states has become really seamless. Now if an already registered taxpayer files application for new GST registration in another state, the validation of the unique combination of the same PAN, Email & Mobile Number is not required. From now onwards, the registered dealer can get another GST registration (whether Normal, Composition, Casual, TDS, TCS or GST Practioner) by quoting the same or any combination of PAN, Email or Mobile number.
Broadly this means that while taking new registration, the combination of PAN, Email or Mobile No. shall be fetched from the existing GSTIN.
#3. Authorized representative Details in case of OIDAR
In GST parlance, Online Information Database Access and Retrieval (OIDAR) refers to the suppliers of the services that are given through the electronic medium to the recipient online, with no physical interface with the supplier. For instance, downloading of an e-book online or installing an app for a certain payment are the services of OIDAR.
Now, those taxpayers who are applying for GST registration as an OIDAR can now give the details of their authorized representative they have appointed in India. Here are the details of their authorized representative which they can now provide under Part A of the GST registration Form GST REG-10:
- Name of the authorized representative,
- PAN Number,
- E-Mail ID &
- His mobile number.
So, these are the new changes introduced by the GST department that will now further simplify the GST registration process.
