CBIC Extends Due Date of FORM GST CMP-08
Recently, it was notified by the GST council that a new GST return GST CMP-08 will be introduced for the taxpayers having GST registration under the Composition scheme. This new return GST CMP-08 shall replace the current GST return GSTR-4.
In this regard, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has extended the due date for the GST Return filing in the FORM GST CMP-08 for the 1st quarter i.e. April 2019 to June 2019 from 18th July 2019 to 31st July 2019.
1. What was the earlier due date for filing of GST CMP-08?
The last date to file the new GST return GST CMP-08 for the quarter of April 2019 to June 2019 was 18th July 2019.
2. How much has the Due date been extended?
The GST authorities have now postponed the due date of filing of FORM GST CMP-08 till 31st of July 2019.
3. Why has GST CMP-08 due date been extended?
The Deadline for the GST return filing in FORM GST CMP-08 has now been extended as the said FORM GST CMP-08 has not yet been made functional at the common portal (GST Portal). This means that the return GST CMP-08 is not available for filing as yet.
The Taxpayers having GST registration under the Composition scheme as well as the GST Professionals are still waiting for any update in this regard.
