Gosh!!! The E-Waybill mandate has been postponed! Read why.

The whole nation was by now well aware of the fact that the E-Waybill was to be made mandatory for nationwide transportation of goods of value exceeding ₹50,000/- and the government had already begun the trial session in various states.

It has now come out of the blue that the E-Waybill mandate has been adjourned and the trial period has been put off till 21st of February, 2018. This has come out as a bolt from the blue for all the traders and entrepreneurs, who are wondering about the reason for such delay.  

The holdup has been caused due to some technical glitches that the GST department is facing while generation of the E-Waybills. The E-Waybill portal has suddenly crashed while the process of generation of the E-Waybills, forcing the government to call off the mandate.

It has been decided that the E-Waybill for interstate transportation of goods will be enforced from  21st of February, 2018.
