GSTR-9 Due Date Extended Again!

Recently, the GST Authority had further extended the deadline for the Annual GST Return filing in Form GSTR-9 and Audit report in GSTR-9C for the FY 2017-18 from 31st November 2019 to 31st December 2019, and for the FY 2018-19 to 31st March 2020.

Now, the CBIC has notified that the Due date for filing Annual GST Return and GST Audit report has been now extended in a staggered manner.

The GSTR-9 Due date has now been separated on the basis of different states from which the taxpayers belong to different states. Accordingly, 3 groups have been created.

This will now provide further relief to all the taxpayers having GST registration.

The extended due dates for GSTR-9 in various states of India as notified by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) have been explained below:-

 

#1. Group-I: GSTR-9 due date extended to 3rd February 2020

GSTR-9 due date has been extended to 3rd February 2020 in the following states:-

  • Maharashtra
  • Karnataka
  • Goa
  • Kerala
  • Tamil Nadu
  • Puducherry
  • Telangana
  • Andhra Pradesh

#2. Group-II: GSTR-9 due date extended to 5th February 2020

GSTR-9 due date has been extended to 5th February 2020 in the following states:-

  • J&K
  • Himachal Pradesh
  • Punjab
  • Chandigarh
  • Uttarakhand
  • Haryana
  • Delhi
  • Rajasthan
  • Gujarat

#3. Group-III: GSTR-9 due date extended to 7th February 2020

GSTR-9 due date has been extended to 7th February 2020 in the following states:-

  • Bihar
  • Sikkim
  • Arunachal Pradesh
  • Nagaland
  • Manipur 
  • Mizoram 
  • Tripura
  • Meghalaya
  • West Bengal
  • Assam
  • Andaman & Nicobar Islands
  • Jharkhand
  • Odisha  
  • Chhattisgarh
  • Dadra & Nagar Haveli
  • Daman & Diu
  • Lakshadweep
  • Madhya Pradesh
  • Uttar Pradesh
